What is cyclismo.org?

This site has been created to offer a forum for cyclists to exchange information and ideas. We hope to post items that are of interest to cyclists. The best way for us to do that is to hear from the folks who use the site. If you come across something that you find interesting or just have an opinion about something please let us know by submitting a story. We cannot post all stories that are submitted, but we will do our best to listen to what you have to say.

What is this site?

This site is built on a software suite called scoop. We will post articles that appear on the front page of the site, and you can then post comments about the article or post replies to other people's comments. The result is an online discussion forum that will allow you exchange views with people from across the state.

How do I start using this site?

If you would like to take part in the discussions please take the time to create a new user account for yourself. You are free to choose just how much (or how little) identifying information to give. It is customary to make up a user name that will allow you to feel comfortable being candid in the different forums. Once you have an account and you are logged in, please leave comments on any of the topics that you find on our top level page.

1. If you see a topic that interests you on the front page click on "Read More".
2. If you would like to create a comment click on the "Reply" button.
3. If you would like to reply to another persons comment you can click on "reply" at the end of the other persons comment.

How do I report offensive behavior?

We will make every effort to keep the forums as open as possible. An unfortunate side effect to this is that there will be comments that you find offensive. We apologize for this in advance.

We will try to limit access to user accounts who repeatedly make offensive comments with no other purpose than to offend. This is a difficult judgment call for us, and we will try to implement the fewest number of restrictions that we can. If you see a pattern of abuses please send mail to our administrator. Please include the user name and a list of URLs that demonstrate the abuses that you would like to report.

What's in it for me?

We provide this forum as a way for you to exchange information with other people. It is that simple! There will be flame wars and someone will likely post a message that you find offensive. In the end, we hope that it will be worthwhile if you can share information and ideas with someone whom you might not have had a discussion without this forum.

How do I submit an article for consideration?

If you have an idea for a story please click on "Submit Story" on the front page. Enter your story and include any URL's that you think are relevant. If you do not know how to create a link do not worry, just include the URL and we will do the rest.

How come my story was rejected?

We have very little time to give all of the story submissions that they deserve. Unfortunately we have to make quick decisions on whether or not to include a story on the front page. There will be many deserving stories that should have been posted but are not accepted.

There have been a number of people who have submitted stories, but we could not find them. We suspect that the stories were previewed but were not submitted. Please note that you have to preview AND then submit your story. It is not enough to just preview your message. Once you preview your message please click on the submit button when you are satisfied with your submission.
